Voting Now Open in Readers’ Choice Awards, where Delray Competes Against the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and the National Christmas Tree
DELRAY BEACH, FL, UNITED STATES, November 4, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Delray Beach is back in the national spotlight. The city’s iconic 100-foot Christmas tree has been nominated for “Best Holiday Tree Display” in the USA TODAY 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards. Chosen by USA TODAY editors and a panel of experts, it is one of 20 nominees nationwide, sharing the ballot with the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree in New York City and the National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C.
The tree has stood at the heart of downtown Delray Beach for more than three decades. It began in 1993 as a 50-foot tree purchased by the Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to bring new life to a struggling downtown. Two years later, for the city’s centennial, it doubled in height: 100 feet for 100 years. Today, visitors can step inside the tree to see animated scenes from the history of the Village by the Sea.
The USA TODAY 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards highlight top destinations and experiences across the country, with winners determined by public vote.
